If you're an individual or represent a company with a desire for social change in Scotland and you want to donate your professional skills and support in a way that makes an impact - we would love to hear from you.
I am constantly meeting individuals who want to facilitate social change, be actively involved with local charities, or simply give something back, but don’t know where to start.
At Inspiring Scotland, with a portfolio of over 200 charities throughout Scotland, we have the ability to match your professional skills to an organisation who would benefit from your support.
Your input can be transformational to a charity in so many ways; freeing up management time to concentrate on delivering their mission statement and focussing their finite financial resources on delivering essential services.
As an intermediary, I match requests from our supported charities to individuals in our Pro Bono network. This process takes into account not only the skill set of the individual but their capacity to take on a particular request, which could range from a quick query to a longer-term commitment such as mentoring or becoming a Trustee.
The list of useable skills is almost endless and our supported charities have utilised everything from accountancy expertise to experience with yachting.
I make regular visits to our supported charities to build on my understanding of how they work and to develop lasting relationships, and would encourage anyone interested in becoming a Pro Bono supporter to come and join me and learn first-hand how their expertise could be used to help some of Scotland’s most disadvantaged people.
If you are interested in becoming a Pro Bono supporter, I would love to hear from you and tell you more about the work our supported charities do, and how your input could help them deliver more efficiently and effectively.
