Play Scotland is the lead organisation for the development and promotion of children and young people’s play in Scotland. They work strategically to make the child’s right to play a reality so that all children can reach their full potential and be able to confidently inhabit an inclusive public realm, as well as help shape child friendly communities.
Funding will support will outreach, child-led outdoor play opportunities in six SIMD 1 neighbourhoods in Dundee.
Play Scotland will deliver personalised family play sessions, building relationships with marginalized families and increasing adult and child confidence to engage with play. They will also run regular community pop-up play provision – coordinating regular, free, full day community play sessions.
Regular community ‘pop up’ all-day play sessions, held in different local green spaces across the city, will ensure that local children have the opportunity to explore child-led play through the medium of loose parts play.
