Support in the Right Direction
Shetland Community Connections provides independent information, advice and practical support with all aspects of self-directed support. This includes helping people to understand the process and their choices prior to an assessment and maximising the impact of any budget awarded. Person-centred planning helps people to identify personal outcomes and assets and identify creative and innovative ways to use budgets, with support provided to make community connections to achieve outcomes through paid for or natural supports. Support is also provided to set up and manage option 1 budgets including training and peer support on being a good employer.
