Thrive Outdoors

St Paul’s Youth Forum

Part of Organised Outdoor Community Play Fund.

St Paul’s Youth Forum (SPYF) works with young people and the local community to improve the lives of everyone in our community through a wide range of activities around the themes of eating, education and exercise.

SPYF work across four spheres:  a Diversionary Youth Project, On Bikes (a community bike project), Bolt FM (a youth radio station) and Blackhill’s Growing (a community food project focusing on growing, cooking and eating).

Over the last three years they have run holiday clubs for 40 5-12 year olds during every school holiday. These clubs have a strong outdoor element with the children spending at least 50% of the time outside, either preparing and eating food, taking part in activities in our community garden, caring for our chickens or playing games.

These are very popular with the children which attend and SPYF look forward to using this experience to develop this Play Outdoors project.
