Chris Martin of Inspiring Scotland’s 1419 Fund charity Callander Youth Project wins Exceptional Employee Award at this year’s Scottish Charity Awards.
Judges deemed Chris’s dedication and innovation key in transforming Callander Youth Project Trust into the success it is today.
The founder of one of the country’s most innovative social enterprises has spoken of his delight at winning Exceptional Employee at this year’s Scottish Charity Awards. Chris Martin, the Managing Director of Callander Youth Project Trust, has transformed it from a small youth group into a burgeoning social enterprise.
As well as running a number of social enterprises from its hub in rural Stirlingshire, the organisation also offers vital youth work services. The charity runs the popular Callander Hostel which has become a huge success in its own right.

On receiving his award at a ceremony in Edinburgh, Chris said: “I am both humbled and delighted to have won Exceptional Employee at this year’s Scottish Charity Awards.
“I am happy to work tirelessly in my role as I am a strong advocate of the fact that ‘Youth Work Changes Lives’ and, as a product of good quality youth work myself, I am keen to facilitate opportunities for young people to engage with local youth work services.”
Shulah Allan, Convener of Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), which organises the awards, added: “I’m in awe of all the finalists and winners.
“Thanks to their efforts, more people in Scotland are receiving the support they need when they need it and we’re all more aware of important issues, and causes, which affect vulnerable people, and us all.”
The survey aims to capture information on third sector organisations who are delivering Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (PIMH) services in Scotland and will be used to inform future developments in the sector. We would like to hear from third sector organisations delivering PIMH support and organisations and agencies who refer families to third sector PIMH services.
