Support in the Right Direction
Ayrshire Independent Living Network provides a range of support in North, South and East Ayrshire to help increase people’s understanding of self-directed support and their ability to manage their social care. Community events, drop ins and training sessions share information on self-directed support and social care. 1:1 support helps people to understand their rights, prepare for an assessment and develop or change personal outcome plans. People who choose to employ a Personal Assistant are supported to understand employer responsibilities, recruit and manage staff and develop the skills and knowledge to be a good employer. Volunteer peer mentors help people understand their options and increase their confidence in taking control. AILN supports all social care users but also targets people with dementia, mental health issues or addictions and people coming home from hospital.
