Support in the Right Direction

Carr-Gomm Community Contacts

Through its Community Contacts project, Carr Gomm provides independent support for people and carers accessing social care in Argyll & Bute and Highland. This supports people at any point in the process by providing information to help them navigate the system, understand their options and the local self-directed support process and make informed choices. People are supported to identify outcomes, plan and prepare for social work meetings, explore creative solutions, access support services, make community connections, become employers and challenge decisions or make complaints where necessary. SDS advice surgeries are provided and a Highland SDS Peer Support Group facilitated to gather feedback to influence policy and mentor emerging leaders.
