Expectant and new parents with a child up to age 3 can access infant and child development services.
Our community based perinatal team offer emotional, parenting, family learning and peer support in local communities in group settings e.g. A Good Start (baby massage, infant development, weaning, play); Dads2B; Baby Steps; Circle of Security Parenting, Open Kindergarten and Healthy Living events. 1:1 home visiting for A Good Start, VIG by referral. All of these services are available in Midlothian.
In East Lothian can currently offer: A Good Start in Prestonpans and Dunbar; Open Kindergarten in Dunbar. The perinatal team help families access links to our counselling service and work closely with our NHS colleagues to provide specialist therapeutic services. Other services such as financial reviews with CAB and support to access Good Time To Be Two (funded childcare) are also available.
Most services can be accessed by self referral. 1:1 home visiting, VIG, Circle of Security by professional referral.
Counselling, Good Time To Be Two and CAB are referrals made from us as needs are identified.
