The Delivering Equally Safe (DES) fund team at Inspiring Scotland have released a new report, which highlights the work carried out by funded organisations supporting women affected by Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE).
CSE is included in the definition of violence against women and girls (VAWG) within Equally Safe, Scotland’s strategy for preventing and eradicating VAWG, and is recognised as a function of gender inequality. CSE includes, for example: prostitution, stripping and lapdancing, pornography and trafficking.
To mark the report release, the Minister for Community Safety, Elena Whitham visited Sacro’s Another Way, a DES funded organisation, to learn more about the programme and meet people supported.
DES currently provides funding to three organisations for specific work focused on CSE: Women’s Support Project ((which includes CSE Aware project work), Sacro and Women’s Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre Dundee and Angus.
The report covers the work carried out including:
One person supported by Sacro’s Another Way, a DES funded programme said:
