Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Ms Shirley-Anne Sommerville visited Boots and Beards one of the 48 charities funded by the Equality & Human Rights Fund.
Boots and Beards use the outdoors to support health, fitness and personal development activities for the South Asian Community in Scotland.
During the visit the Cabinet Secretary met with participants from various Boots and Beards groups and members of the community to listen and learn about their work in supporting and encouraging minority ethnic communities to love the Scottish outdoors.
The visit coincided with the Equality and Human Rights Fund publishing the latest impact report.
The Equality and Human Rights Fund supports organisations and partners to develop, embed and mainstream equality and human rights within policy and practice in Scotland, in line with the ambitions of the National Performance Framework.
During the six-month period 42,755 people and 4,015 organisations received support from 48 funded projects across Scotland.
