We are a venture philanthropy organisation. This means we apply venture capital principles – such as long-term investment and tailored development support – to the voluntary sector. In doing this, we aim to build a Scotland where everyone has the same opportunities to reach their potential and lead happy and healthy lives.
We are impatient to see change for those in Scotland who struggle on a daily basis. We seek partnerships with those who share our drive and sense of urgency.
We will fund and support organisations based on strong evidence of need and impact, and we will work with them to make the best use of resources. We will use evidence to influence the investment of time and
resources and highlight areas where improvements can be made.
The focus of our work is to support organisations to increase and improve their impact. We are here to make a difference; we support people committed to making change and get behind them.
Our network of professional volunteers lends vital expert assistance to Scotland’s charities, helping them to build capacity and overcome problems. Our strong connections with the private sector – both individuals and businesses – allows us to access a deep and varied pool of expertise.
We identify and solve social problems on a national scale. We develop new ideas and practices to improve the way the voluntary sector changes the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in society.
We work with experts from the voluntary, public, private and academic sectors. Get in touch if you want to help us build a better Scotland.
