Delivering Equally Safe (DES) is the Scottish Government’s funding programme to support third sector organisations and public bodies contribute to the objectives, priorities and outcomes of the Equally Safe Strategy. DES funding is managed by Inspiring Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government.
Equally Safe: Scotland’s strategy for preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls was refreshed in 2023. The strategy sets out a vision to address violence against women and girls.
It outlines the ambition to stop it occurring in the first place, build the capability and capacity of support services, and strengthen the justice response to victims and perpetrators.
The priorities of the Equally Safe 2023 refresh are:
Entering it’s fourth year in 2025-26, DES is funding 109 organisations delivering 120 services focused on providing vital support to survivors, and on essential work to tackle gender-based violence through preventative measures.
